HI Jim, great story...loved it. A reflection of a memorable past in stark contrast with the present. I was not far behind you born in 1943. While reading I could not help reflect on my own which was much different than yours, but nonetheless of memories, the good and the bad, and how in which our lives have changed over time. Frankly, I have to ask myself, are we headed in the right direction? We all seem to prefer to use our Smart Phones with its bells and whistles to send text messages rather than make a traditional phone call. My grandkids won't answer their phones, but will respond to a text message. We're humans but are we becoming robots?

Hey, I hope in the not too distant future you and Gail will find time to leave the beautiful sunset from your apartment and come down to Texas for a visit. Oh, all the best with the new venture; great idea.

All the best to you two, Kathy and I send our love to all.

Really appreciate your comment, Steve, from one of my lifetime friends. I am about 30 minutes from Port Credit. Travelled the world and ended up back home.

Jim, this was a wonderful read. Thank you for taking the time to write it. You have a talent for entertaining writing, I look forward to your book. I also grew up in the 50s and have similar memories. I grew up a crossed the lake in Rochester NY where we also played a lot of pond hockey. It has been a pleasure reading your stories and learning about your experiences. Best wishes, Fred
